Journalism students to showcase their talent

Annual cultural and sports fest 'Pratibha-2016' to begin today

 

Bhopal, 11 March, 2016 : The annual cultural and sports festival 'Pratibha-2016' of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCNUJC) will begin on Saturday.

Hundreds of students will showcase their talent in different sports and cultural events, to be held in two-phase in the university campus and outside, between March 12 and 16 and March 17 to 19. Various cultural contests will be held in the first phase. Sports competitions will be organised in the second phase.

Celebrating its silver jubilee year this year, the University has included seven new competitions in the events.

This year, all the competitions, being organised in Youth Festivals by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) have been included in the annual event.

The seven new competitions included are - Rangoli, collage, installation, mimicry, clay modeling, poem recitation and solo song (western). Besides, students will participate in photography, animation, website designing, acting, debate, quiz, skit, mime, dance, singing and instrumental music competitions.

Chess, carom, badminton and cricket competitions will be held in sports category.

TODAY'S COMPETITIONS: Cultural contests will begin in the morning at 9 am in the university campus and will continue till 4 pm. First day, essay writing, cartoon, feature writing, story board for short film, script writing, power point presentation, Rangoli, poster making and extempore speech and collage competitions will be held.
