MCU signs MOU with Chinese varsity for academic cooperation and students' exchange


Bhopal 15 May, 2016 : Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) - one of the premier universities in China in printing, packaging and media studies, recently.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Brij Kishore Kuthiala and Rector Lajpat Ahuja from MCU and President of BIGC Xueke Luo and Dean of International Affairs Zhang Sheru signed the MoU in a simple ceremony. Both universities will work for academic cooperation and students' exchange.

Under the MoU, the MCU will have the option of opening of a Centre of Confucius Studies, for which Government of China will give huge grants. This centre will avail opportunity to Indian and international students to study Chinese culture and language. Vice-chancellor Prof Kuthiala said that this will open a new era of study and opportunities for students and teachers of the MCU.

The MCU is one of the top of universities for printing, packaging, computer and Information technology and media studies in India. Sixty-year-old, BIGC is also one among the premier institutes in China and offering a high level education for degree, non-degree and exchange study progammes. Chinese Printing Museum is located in its campus and it has established seven research institutes with multidisciplinary focus. In-charge registrar Deepak Sharma, senior teachers of MCU and distinguished persons were present on the occasion.
